Squeezed into 1.95 sq km, making it the world’s second smallest country, after the Vatican, this pint-sized principality is a sovereign state, with its own red-and-white flag, national holiday (19 November), country telephone code and traditional Monégasque dialect. French is the official language, although many street signs, especially in the old Monaco Ville quarter, are in French and Monégasque, and children of all 107 nationalities that form Monaco’s population are required to study the language at school. Neither is Monaco part of the EU, but because of its close ties with France it participates in the EU customs territory, and there are no border formalities crossing to and from France
Monaco is located between the South of France and Italy, right on the Mediterranean Ocean. Monaco is country of monarchy with Prince Albert II as head of state.
The country is only about two squared kilometres in area, but still boasts a population of over 30,000 people, making it the most populated country in the world.
Monaco is made up of several areas; Monte Carlo, Monaco-Ville, La Condamine, Fontvielle and Larvotto Beach.
Monaco is well known for its tax haven status, and has a great deal to do with its exclusivity and appeal. It is also well known for tourism as a playgroud for the rich and famous, with it’s renowned Monte Carlo Casino. The Grand Prix is another major part of Monaco too, but it does boast many other exciting sports and activities.
The Monaco Principality is an independent state of 1.92 Km2. The first population was as almost in the rest of Europe, Romans. But the historical modern beginning of Monaco started in 1308 when Italy bought this part of France to the Republic of Genova. After that, in 1524 there was a Spanish invasion. Nowadays is Constitutional Monarchy with Prince Albert II as the head of state.
Monaco is much more than beautiful beaches. There are some fact that defines exactly what Monaco is: a tax haven (no income tax for individuals) that is also the second most densely populated country in the world.
